Travelling Wedding Photographer visiting the Drumheller Badlands…
If you’re dreaming of couples photos that feel nostalgic, romantic, and a little bit wild — this session will steal your heart. As an Alberta travelling wedding photographer who’s constantly chasing Alberta’s hidden gems, I knew the hoodoos in Drumheller would be the perfect backdrop for Jordyn and Liam. Just a short drive from Edmonton or Calgary, Drumheller offers a unique desert-meets-badlands vibe that feels worlds away from the typical.
We met on a warm summer evening, just as the sun started to dip and the sky turned soft and hazy. Jordyn in a breezy white dress and Liam in a laid-back printed shirt — it was effortlessly cool and totally them. There’s something about the golden light hitting the hoodoos and hills that turns the whole landscape into a dreamy canvas, and these two were pure magic against it.

The Iconic Rosedeer Hotel in Wayne, Alberta
We wandered through the old Rosedeer Hotel in Wayne to start, soaking up that vintage western charm. Their energy was playful and flirty — the kind of love that feels grounded in friendship and full of fun. From there, we climbed a few hills and chased the light across the badlands. Liam would spin Jordyn, she’d throw her head back laughing, and everything about the moment felt like a scene out of a dusty road trip movie.

Desert tones and Golden Sunset Skies
The tones of this session were rich and muted — soft beige earth, dusty olive greens, and that golden Alberta glow settling over everything. We finished the night on a quiet bridge as the sun dipped behind the hills, with a cotton candy sky wrapping around them like a hug.

Drumheller might just be the perfect location for your photoshoot:
If you’re planning an engagement, anniversary, or just-because session and want it to feel intentional, personal, and artfully candid — let’s create something meaningful together. As your favourite travelling wedding photographer, I’m always up for desert sunsets, hoodoo hikes, and documenting the real stuff that makes your love story yours.
If you love the vintage aesthetic of storytelling photography as much as my heart does, I think we should chat 🙂
